停留簽證延期(外籍交換生)
外籍交換學生持停留簽證入台，應於簽證上之【停留期限天數到期前15日之內】(從入臺翌日起算第1天)至移民署臨櫃辦理簽證延長，總延期天數不得超過180天。
應攜帶以下資料辦理簽證延長:

1.護照和簽證影本各一份。
2.相關證明文件:
A. 中文在學證明一份(到教務處申請,費用新台幣20元) 。
B. Acceptance letter 錄取通知書一份(上面要有學期開始和結束日期!)。
3.申辦費用: NT$300。
4.辦理完成後，移民署會在護照空白內頁蓋上延長日期

自113年3月1日起，加重罰則：
1、臺灣地區無戶籍國民或外國人，逾期停留或居留者，處新臺幣壹萬元以上伍萬元以下罰鍰。(內政部移民署 第74-1條第2項)
2、外國人逾期停留、居留或非法工作者，禁止入國，禁入期間1年以上，7年以下。(內政部移民署 第18條)

International exchange students holding a visitor visa without a stamp of no-extension must apply for an extension at the National Immigration Agency[ within the last 15 days before the visa expires.]
(Please note that the day after entering Taiwan is considered the first day)
Please bring the following documents to the immigration office for the extension procedure:
1. A copy of your passport and visa.
2. Relevant Supporting Documents:
(1) Exchange Student:
A. A Certificate of Enrollment in Chinese, obtainable from the Academic Affairs office for a fee of NT$20.
B. An Acceptance Letter containing the semester start and end dates, as originally issued by TTU.
(2) Other: Please provide relevant supporting documents in accordance with the purpose of your visa application, such as an invitation letter or permission letter from an authorized government agency.
3. Processing Fee: NT$300
4. Proceed directly to the immigration office counter to process the extension. The immigration office will stamp the extended date on your passport.
※【Important】※
Starting from March 1st, 2024, there are heavier penalties regarding overstaying:
1. Taiwan nationals without household registration in Taiwan or foreigners overstaying or residing without proper authorization will be fined from NT$10,000 up to NT$50,000. (Article 74-1, Paragraph 2, National Immigration Agency, Ministry of the Interior)
2. Foreigners overstaying, residing without proper authorization, or working illegally are prohibited from entering Taiwan for not less than 1 year and not more than 7 years. (Article 18, National Immigration Agency, Ministry of the Interior)
